The Indian Police captured a crypto hacker who hacked $1.23 million in BTC (Bitcoin) from cryptocurrency exchanges and online crypto gaming platforms.
The Bengaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB) police reported that a 25-year-old hacker named Shri Krishna has been arrested, having Bitcoin worth $1.23 million, equal to 9 crores of Indian rupees (INR). The hacker is a software engineer and was a resident of south Bengaluru.
Sandeep Patil, Bengaluru Joint Police Commissioner, explains that on November 18th, the hacker has taken into custody, for having illegal access to the govt websites and the drug trade through the darknet using BTC.
Commissioner further said, “We have recovered 31 Bitcoins from Krishna, which is worth Rs 9 crore”.
The police department stated,
“Further investigation has revealed that Krishna, along with five friends, hacked into three bitcoin exchanges and ten poker websites by pushing three types of malware into them.”
Professional hacker Krishna had a luxurious life with his friend and stayed in the 5-star hotel using these Bitcoins and drugs trade.
Since December 2020, Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and other altcoins have gained immensely and the total crypto market cap surpassed by 1 trillion dollars.
The hacking attempts of cryptocurrency exchanges, Mining platforms, Crypto News platforms, and online and offline crypto wallets are on the rise.
